Things to Know on Game Day
Every Wednesday, make sure to check in with a Black Shirt at the picnic table located southwest of the playground and the bocce courts. Each team will play one game on the courts, as indicated on your schedule, with the remainder of games set up with cones and played on the grass on the southwest quadrant of the park (on the side of the sidewalk closest to the I-395 overpass).

In the case of inclement weather, we will post an update on this page by 4 p.m., game day. Make up games will most likely take place that Thursday.

Check out our Rules for more details. Standings and Pictures will be updated a few days after your games are done.

Bar Specials and Sponsors
The Pour House (319 Pennsylvania Ave, SE) is our Cap Hill postgame destination and is located just a few short blocks away from the park. During League nights, members enjoy the following specials on our sponsor beers, Peroni and Blue Moon, as well as food specials at the bar. We should have:

  • $4 Peroni/Blue Moon drafts, $12 pitchers
  • Food specials TBD!
The more you drink, the more chances you have to win! Be the team that drinks the most Peroni/Blue Moon from now through December and you will win an ULTIMATE grand prize valued at $2,000! Teams must have a minimum of 50 tickets per season to qualify. This will count from season to season to season.

Game Location and Directions
Garfield Park (2nd and F Streets, SE)

Via Metro: Take the Orange/Blue Line to the Capitol South Metro stop. Walk south on 1st Street, SE towards Tortilla Coast and Bullfeathers for 3 blocks and you will dead end into the park. Visit www.wmata.com for more information.

Driving: Click Here. And please be aware of parking regulations in the area, often pertaining to Nationals Stadium.

Remember to take any trash that you bring into the park back out again.  The trash bins get full by the day of our games so please throw your trash away in a bin outside of the park.  And let's do our part to help the environment by taking any recyclable materials to the Pour House for deposit after your games.

Bocce Courts
In 2005, the DC Bocce League funded and constructed two bocce courts in Garfield Park on Capitol Hill. The courts, located between the playground and tennis courts, are the first and only public bocce courts in DC. We invite the entire community to enjoy them and become familiar with one of the world’s oldest sports.

Tag It!
This season, we are posting all league photos to Facebook albums, which allows for interactive commenting and now TAGGING! Anyone in the league has the ability to tag friends, teammates, etc., so please check out our photos from this season and let the Facebook connecting begin!

Charity
At the end of each season, winning teams from each division are awarded a cash prize to donate to a charity of their choice. We have donated to many local, national and international charities. We are also happy to participate in special charity events throughout the year. If you have any ideas feel free to contact us mail@dcbocce.com
